Cooking teacher, author, and chef Joanne Weir shares culinary techniques and tips with her students. From her kitchen, Weir instructs an aspiring chef on equipping a kitchen, preparing Mediterranean-inspired recipes, and selecting complementary wines with the help of a sommelier. During each hands-on cooking lesson, students discover unexpected solutions to real-life problems, including gummy risotto, grainy ice cream, broken emulsions, or overwhipped egg whites. At the end of each episode, Weir and her student reflect upon the recipe, discuss key insights, and taste the fruits of their labor.
